Exiv2 corrupts Ricoh MakerNotes
Added by Anonymous Poster about 12 years ago
Hi,
Exiv2-0.18.1 seems to corrupt the Ricoh MakerNotes [1] and Ricoh Subdir Tags when writing GPS EXIF tags with GPSCorrelate to JPG files taken with a (quite old) "Ricoh Caplio RR30". At least ExifTool-7.82 complains like this:
Warning: [minor] Possibly incorrect maker notes offsets (fix by 268?)
Please see atached files for an example.
BTW: If I use GPSCorrelate to edit images taken with a "Canon EOS 500D" DSLR, it doesn't happen. So I guess something with the MakerNotes might be wrong.
Is this a bug in Exiv2 or even ExifTool and is there any solution to fix these images?
Thanks in advance!
Best regards,
Sebastian

This is a missing feature. Exiv2 doesn't support these Makernotes. Someone needs to sit down and code that support.
The known Makernotes are summarized here: http://www.exiv2.org/makernote.html
