Expose Adobe Lightroom hierarchical subject tags?

I stumbled on bug 712477 in gexiv2 and thought that it would be possible to change this in exiv2.

I've gone ahead and submitted a patch to exiv2 Bug #784. Is this the right way to go?

Thanks, Alan. That's very helpful of you to deal with this. I'll be honest and admit that I don't know anything about this, however it seems reasonable and passes the test suite. I've submitted your patch r3384.
