It is a Sigma 100-400mm F5-6,3 DG OS HSM lens. I have already added this to .exiv2, but darktable still refers to this lens as 195.

Thanks for reporting this, Thomas. Perhaps `added this to .exiv2` should be `added this to ~/.exiv2`?

If updating ~/.exiv2 isn't effective, that implies that your version of darktable is using an elderly version of exiv2. The ~/.exiv2 feature was published in April 2017. If you're using an elderly darktable/exiv2, then changing code in Exiv2 will not help you.

Could you attach a sample image to this issue please?

It's remarkable how the same issue can be reported by several people at the same time. On Sunday, I received this: http://dev.exiv2.org/issues/1368 and yesterday: http://dev.exiv2.org/issues/1369

Regrettably, the current release of darktable uses Exiv2 v0.25 which doesn't support the ~/.exiv2 file.
