New version (executable), old hangup

Boy do I remember this little quirk.

if I have a caption that begins with double quotes, read in from a text file, exiv2 will skip the quote and write the rest of it to the image file.

I forgot how to keep this from happening. If there is a way, please post it. Thanks in advance
