11:14 Exiv2 Forum: The "volatile" Tags vs the "smart" Tags
Andreas, I've been taking another look at the "copy one tag value to another" concept with which the last thread I started finished up. I remembered from some earlier mistakes I'd made just adding single tag values that there are both tags tha...

08:38 Exiv2 Forum: RE: "Pulling out" the value of one IPTC tag?
Andreas, Maybe without knowing it I've chanced upon a variation of "metacopy" that's worth coding and compiling, at a user's prerogative, for copying values from one field to another. It would certainly take the need to know shell scripting out...

06:59 Exiv2 Forum: RE: Trap or suppress warnings when using Exiv2 library?
Hank, If you have the time to do it, please proceed with it. Myself, I'm finding it monotonous to rely on "2>/dev/null" to suppress errors on the command line or in shell scripts. It's only a redirection, after all. And in some scripts, it gets...

14:13 Exiv2 Forum: RE: "Pulling out" the value of one IPTC tag?

19:35 Exiv2 Forum: RE: Submitted for perusal: The IPTC Core "Map" of Applications.
Just FYI: I didn't write it. I got it here: http://www.controlledvocabulary.com/imagedatabases/iptc_core_mapped.pdf I suppose I'm just saving the lot of you the step of navigating off-site to get it. Not that it would take more than a second...
19:32 Exiv2 Forum: Submitted for perusal: The IPTC Core "Map" of Applications.
I'm not sure this is the latest one. Acrobat 9 Reader indicates it was created 17.07.2009.09.37.18 (why not keep my hand in and use the exif date format?). I mentioned this in one thread already, and thought it would be courteous if the folks who ...
